Project Overview
Unfolding Space: Conversation Without Words explores the depth of the world that is always listening and willing to talk. In this proposed installation, the walls of the otherwise empty gallery space deform, reaching out to touch the audience. By taking the otherwise unmarked space of the wall, usually ignored and treated as background, and extending it to encompass the full sensory experience on its own, the piece makes a statement that all aspect of the world are active partic- ipants in our lives. Each have their own history and personal context, each can be given attention and listening, and each has its own story to tell. The gallery space becomes at times cavernous, at times unsettling, and at all times alive - open to conversation, if only one approaches it with the willingness to listen.
